Through The Badlands

  We explored Horsethief Canyon this past weekend.  This was a welcome break from the city and snow.  Durning our search for crystals we also found igneous rock, coal, petrified wood and many a Cactus & Crocus.  This is like discovering a new planet.  The kids LOVED the hunt for sparkling quartz crystals and wished they could go out there every day! 

  Amazing to see how well the kids did on the hike.  There were some sections that were nothing short of terrifying as a parent watching them climb up to places where the downs were,.... so far DOWN! 

  For me the hunt was for best angles, textures, and stories.  I took about 350 pictures!  This is one of those places that you just can't stop taking pictures.  The view was so beautiful, capturing it 10 times didn't seem like enough.  Silly, but true.

Do I have the itch to paint,... you bet I do!  Now, how to I find the time & space to do it?
